Dr. Shashank Sundriyal was born in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. He completed his B.Tech and M.Tech from Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun in 2013 and 2015 respectively. He earned his PhD in August 2019 from Academy of Scientific & Innovative Research (CSIR-CSIO Chandigarh Laboratory), India. After his PhD, he worked as a CSIR-Nehru Science Postdoctoral Fellow in CSIR-National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi, India from September 2019 to March 2022. His research work focuses on the synthesis and study of various metal-organic frameworks, their derived structures and its various composites with conducting polymers, graphene, metal oxides, Transition Metal Dichalcogenides (TMDs), and biowaste derived activated carbon for energy storage applications. When joining the group dr. Sundriyal has published 30 research articles in reputable international journals and 5 book chapters with >840 citations and also an active reviewer of many journals. He has qualified the UGC NET JRF examination in Electronic Science. His other scientific recognitions include the various international travel grants from DST, CSIR, Japan government, RAKCAM UAE, and RSC Grant for Young Scientists. He also got Associate Membership of RSC, CSIR-Nehru Science Postdoctoral Fellowship, CSIR-Pool Scientist Grant, and Prestigious Green Talent 2021 outstanding young scientist award by Federal Ministry of Education & Research of Germany.
In April 2022, he joined Nanoelectrochemistry group at the IChF as an Assistant Professor under PASIFIC project jointly funded by Polish Academy of Sciences and Marie-Curie Foundation. The primary interest of the research is to synthesis metal-organic frameworks derived transition metal phosphides and carbon composites for zinc-ion hybrid electrochemical capacitor for the sake of high safety and high energy density.
