Nirmal Das
Nirmal Das did his B. Sc. from Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira, Belur Math, Howrah, India in 2010. Successively, he did his M. Sc. in Chemistry from IIT Kanpur, Kanpur, India in 2012. Then he joined as a PhD scholar in IISER Bhopal, India under the supervision of Professor Saptarshi Mukherjee. In November 2017, he successfully defended his PhD thesis. He is currently postdoctoral research associate in Soft Condensed Matter group in Institute of Physical Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences, Poland.
His research interests include spectroscopic investigations of the organized assemblies, synthesis and spectroscopic applications of luminescent metal nanoclusters. He is intend to develop efficient nano-probe for applying them in forefront areas of bio-nanotechnology. He would like to apply these nanomaterials as potential nanosensors and bio-sensors for detecting metal ions, pH, temperature, osmotic pressure and other biologically significant molecules inside the living cells.
