Łukasz Richter

FORMER MEMBER Łukasz Richter, PhD. Eng. left our group in August 2019 to become post doc fellow in Professor Stellacci group at EPFL.

Lukasz Richter graduated in biotechnology from Warsaw University of Technology (Poland) in 2014. His master thesis (performed partially in Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS) has been awarded in competition organized by Polish Society for Biomedical Engineering. He joined Professor Hołyst group in 2013 as a member of dr Paczesny workgroup. He defended his PhD in 2019.

His main field of interest is creating novel bio-inspired nanomaterials. He is especially interested in using different electric fields for designing such materials and processes. Additional topics are: biosensors for fast bacteria detection, deactivation of bacteriophages, improving analytical techniques.

Łukasz Richter participated in many different short internships and trainings, among others at University of Bordeaux in France, Wageningen University in Netherlands, University Politehnica of Bucharest, University of Gdańsk, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Nałęcz Institute of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering PAS. Łukasz Richter is among winners of Student-Inventor 2016 competition. His invention was awarded on 44th International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneve (Swiss) with gold medal with the special congratulations of the jury and special prize awarded by Korea Invention Promotion Association. He is also active popularizer of science. Łukasz Richter reached finals of FameLab competition, take part in Spokesman of Science program by Copernicus Science Centre, was present in radio (Polish Radio 1), press and video interview (Newsweek Poland).
